Stranded with You Save File: SteamDB Location and Backup
SteamDB’s October 3 configuration points to the save subfolder inside the Stranded with You installation directory. Use it as a location to check and copy before changing files; the path has not been tested in a local installation here.

Find the installation’s save folder
The captured SteamDB configuration records root gameinstall, relative path save/ and a wildcard pattern. Its derived location is [Steam Library]/steamapps/common/Stranded with You/save/. The Steam Library placeholder means the library where this game is installed, rather than a fixed drive letter.
Locate the game installation directory in your Steam library and look for its save subfolder. This is a practical way to follow the database record; the source is configuration metadata and has not been checked against actual local filenames.
Make a copy before changing files
As a general backup precaution, close the game, copy the existing save folder to a separate location and keep the original intact. Preserve the files together rather than guessing which one is the active slot. A copy can protect the files you found, but it is not a tested restore procedure for this game.
If no save folder is present where expected, confirm that you opened the installed game directory and used the correct Steam library. The reviewed sources do not establish an alternative AppData location, an individual filename or a guaranteed reason for the folder to be missing.
Replacement and cloud synchronization
Steam lists Steam Cloud and SteamDB records cloud-save configuration. That does not prove when synchronization happens or which copy wins if local and cloud files differ. No replacement, rollback or cross-edition migration procedure has been tested here.
